Creating a Life You Love
Living with purpose is crucial to being well. People who wake up each morning with a clear purpose live longer and happier lives. They know what it is they are meant to do, and they do it! Sometimes identifying that purpose can be hard. For many people, they want a purpose that is grand and impressive to the world around them. Some people want a a simple purpose in life that draws little attention to themselves. There is no right or wrong answer here. Your purpose is your purpose. Sometimes it is easy to overlook the small things that are important for bigger things that gain attention or notoriety. This is where I think people find discontentment. Nothing seems good enough or pleasing enough to others. When we try finding our purpose through the lens of the world, we find discontentment and frustration. Something as simple as taking care of your family is a great purpose. It might not bring glory or fame, but it is grand in its own right.
I have struggled with finding my purpose or calling. I wanted a purpose that made a difference in the world or mattered to someone. I also wanted a purpose that impressed my family and friends. I found that trying to find my purpose based on those thoughts only brought discontentment. I was letting other people's thoughts dictate what I truly felt passionate about. My passions in life have changed over the years, but my purpose has remained unchanged. In different seasons, I have felt called to different things. I love that! I have been able to explore so many wonderful things through my changing seasons of life and use them for my purpose in life which is to take care of my family. God blessed me with a husband and children, and they are my purpose. Whatever passion I pursue, I always pursue it with the goal of blessing my family through it.
Nutrition and fitness have played a huge part in my life. Early on in life I knew I wanted to focus on being healthy and fit. I have loved studying food and how it affects the body and the benefits of consistent exercise. Hand me a nutrition book, and I am happy! Recently I have added to my love of nutrition with herbalism. Now you can hand me a book on herbs and I am on cloud nine. I love learning about how God created the plants around us to heal and nourish our bodies. I get excited about using an herb in a tincture or salve. I get goose bumps thinking about it! I am not an expert by any means, but I am an enthusiast that will keep learning and experimenting for as long as I can.
On this blog, you will find my creations, recipes, tips, and tricks for living a healthy, purposeful life. You may chose to use none of them or all of them. I love teaching (another passion of mine), so having a place to share what I am working on is fun! Join me and try these things for yourself. Ask me questions, offer me suggestions, or just cautiously watch. I am happy you are here:)
